One-on-one tutoring covers Grades 1 to 12. Power Hours group sessions run for Grades 4 to 11.

For Grades 4 to 9, onlinEd tutors English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Technology, Natural Science, Economic and Management Science, Arabic, Social Science and isiZulu. For Grades 10 to 12, onlinEd tutors English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Physical Science, Mathematics Literacy, Economics, Accounting, Life Science, Business Studies, History, Geography, isiZulu and Arabic.

onlinEd tutors students following the CAPS, IEB and Impaq curricula. You choose your curriculum when you sign up, and we match you with a tutor familiar with its content and assessment style.

Both. Online tutoring is available anywhere in South Africa. In-person one-on-one tutoring is available for Grades 1 to 3 in Houghton, Johannesburg, and Power Hours also run in person in Johannesburg.

Power Hours are small-group exam review sessions of up to 10 students, for Grades 4 to 11. They run online or in person in Johannesburg, and focus on reviewing and practising exam material.

Power Hours are small group sessions of up to 10 students focused on exam review, while one-on-one tutoring is a private session tailored to a single student's needs. One-on-one is available online or in person; Power Hours run on Saturdays.

Power Hours are held on Saturdays, so they fit around the school week.

One-on-one tutoring is charged by the hour, and rates start from R170 an hour for Grades 1 to 3, R180 for Grades 4 to 7, R210 for Grades 8 to 10 and R250 for Grades 11 to 12. Those starting rates are the ten-hour package rates; five-hour and ten-hour packages are both discounted against the single-hour rate, which runs from R190 to R280 depending on the grade.

Yes. Five-hour and ten-hour packages are available at a lower hourly rate than single sessions. A ten-hour package for Grades 11 to 12 costs R2 500, which works out to R250 an hour instead of R280.

Sessions are 60 minutes as standard, but onlinEd can accommodate other lengths within reason, so a longer session before an exam or a shorter catch-up can be arranged. You buy a set number of hours for one child and use them however suits you — the hours are not tied to a fixed session length.

Packages are valid for the current South African academic year.

Yes. onlinEd's tutors hold formal teaching and subject qualifications, including B.Ed. Honours in Mathematics and Science Education, a B.Com. in Accounting and Taxation with a PGCE, and B.Sc. Honours, alongside English and Mathematics specialists.

Tutors are matched by the grade and subject you select when you sign up. Each onlinEd tutor teaches a specific set of grades and subjects, so your child works with someone who specialises in what they need.
